Found Several Old Photos with Writing

I have some old pictures that were in an old album that I had purchased from a flea market several years ago. There are several tin types and several of the pictures that look like they were printed on heavy cardboard, probably taken in the late 1800's to the early 1900's. One of the pictures has the person's full name on the back, first, middle, and last, another has the persons first and last name, and yet another has uncle John on it. I would like to find someone who is related and interested in these pictures for their family history The writing or studio printed on the back of the pictures is as follows.

Unknown Baby Photo 1958          Unknown Baby 1958

I bought some picture frames at a thrift store a few years back in the Kimberling City, Mo/Golden, Mo. area, can't remember which now. But there was such a precious baby picture in the frame, that I just kept it and displayed it with the rest of my pictures.

There are no markings on the picture backs ...there must be someone out there that would treasure these precious pictures.

In taking it out of the frame for closer inspection to identity, I found a second picture stuck to the back. It is also of a young child...a girl looks to be around a year old or so. This one has nothing on the back either. The only clue is that it was taken in 1958 at an Olan Mills Studio. I would like to be able to return these pictures to their rightful owners or families

NEUMILLER Family Photos - 1882 to 1917

I have acquired a couple pictures lately. They were found at a garage sale in Dawson Creek B.C. Canada, and were given to my uncle because the surname on the pictures is the same as his although we have no idea if they are
related somehow. I would like to find out more about them, as I suspect they should be related some where along the way. One picture is of an "Elizabeth Neumiller" age 14 dated 1882. The other is of two young men, one Otto and the other Ed dated 1917 and dressed in Russian revolutionary garb probably in their 20's. Their last name appears
to be "Stephan" and I have found out that there were two Neumiller girls that both married a man with the last name Stephan. These pictures are in very good condition (hand painted) and I would like to hear from anyone who has an interest in these people. -

Photo Album - Circa 1931

I found a photo album at a flea market in Vacaville, California. It appears to be photos from someone's college days. Most of the photos were taken in 1931. There are snapshots of young people on a trip to Pike's Peak in an old car named "Sarah". Some of the photos have names on them: Jack REINHART, Socarro New Mexico taken 7/31/1931, young man on a porch in the snow "Ross", young man in derby hat & bow tie sitting on porch steps Harold NORRIS, no date. Two young men Don NAYLER, Golden, CO and Doc PAVELITICH, New Mexico, young man sitting on the rocks is John BURKE. Poems written by Cal CARPENTER (he signs his name "The Poet of the Platte") in July, 1931 called "Camp Satisfaction", "A Wanderer's Litany" and "Our Old Friends". There are photos of college football games in Boulder, Colorado taken 10/17/1931, photos of University of Louisville, KY, Indiana University and Purdue University. The photos are old but most of them are in perfect condition. Several of the photos were developed at Warren's Better Kodak Finishing - West Lafayette, Indiana on Oct 5, 1931. There is also a loose newspaper clipping about the death of Judge Joseph HERRON of the Howard Circuit Court and Dean of the local legal profession. The article mentions his secretary Goldie PERRY, his doctor Wilbur J. MARSHALL, his neighbors Joseph HARRIS and Margaret CRAIG, and his daughter Mrs. Ruth ANDERSON arriving from Wash.DC. No date on this article, it appears to be old, no state mentioned but a town mentioned in the article is Delphi and his address was W. Mulberry Street. I would love to see this photo album and this article returned to a relative of some of these people. Someone went to great trouble to put this photo album together. If the relatives can't be found I would at least like one of the colleges to have it. Thanks,

Photos - Surnames Bradfield / Seaton / Ingham / Schooley / Frazier

On 4/24/03 I found seven labeled photos, at a flea market in Carthage, MO.

1. A 3-1/4 x 5-1/4 inch vertical black & white postcard, possibly taken about the turn of the century. Josie Bradfield (last several letters of the last name are unclear) is written crossways on the back.

2. A 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 horizontal color photograph of a woman standing in front of a horse and covered wagon. The back is inscribed Carmalita Seaton. This was made at the Jessie James resort near Branson Missouri summer of 1968. The horse is a <unreadable>.

3. An oval, sepia-colored photograph of a midde-age man on a two-tone 7-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch vertical cardboard mat. The back is labeled in pencil Uncle Geo. Ingham, and then in ink Uncle George Ingham (papa's brother).

4-5. A 3 x 5 vertical black and white photo, possibly a graduation picture, of an older teen in a suit. Howard Schooley is ritten in the upper left corner of the face.

In the same basket was a 4 x 6 vertical black and white, formally posed photo of an older couple in the style of 50th anniversary photos. Mom and Dad Schooley was written in blue ink across the top margin. I don't have any expertise in dating photos, but both appear to be in the same style as a photo from the same basket with the probable date of 1965.

6-8. Three pictures, all black & white, possibly related, found in the same basket at the same flea market.

One 5 x 7 vertical photo is of an older teen with Jim Frazier in the upper left corner and 65 in the upper right corner. A "Class 65" sticker is on the photo.

The second photo is a 6-1/2 x 8-1/2 horizontal formally posed family photo of two adults, and a girl and a boy, both grade school age. The names Gwen, Sandra, Cleo and Jim are written across the top.

The handwriting on these two pictures may be the same as the handwriting on the Schooley photos.

The last photo, 4 x 6 horizontal, formally posed family photo may be the same family as the previous photo, but taken several years earlier. The girl appears to be toddler age and the boy pre-school or very early grade school age.

Caroline Calloway - Diary / Photos - Circa 1900

In 1982, I came into possession of some pictures and a diary called "My Trip Abroad" and a passport to an artshow back in 1900 - in perfect condition, belonging to Caroline Calloway. The diary talks about all of her trip on the ship. I think she had a lot to do with Washington D.C. Her picture is in great shape -she has broach pin on her dress (worn on the front of her collar) . She lived in Washington D.C and also in Silver Springs Maryland when she died in 1982. But can't find family (there are too many Calloway's to search). Thanks -**Note E-mail Address for this submitter Invalid - Submitter: Please contact I Dream of Genealogy to Update your address for this listing**

I have in my possession 2 large portraits framed, one has a name plate that reads Robert S. Green II and Gregory E. Grimes Esq. and is dated 1989, the other says Bobbie Green 10-1974 wrote on the back, this one appears to be a graduation portrait. I'm sure these are someone's family and would like to see them back in the right hands, these were found in my husbands grandfathers attic and we have asked the entire family if they know who these men are and no one seems to know them, the home is in Alabama so these men may have lived in Alabama at one time or another, though how they got in the house is beyond me.

Hardy Family Picture

My mother has a family picture of her great-great aunt; Annie Green Hardy, her husband Andrew (?) Hardy and their three children. The picture  was taken around 1900 in or near Chicago, Illinois. There are three children present; two girls and a boy. We do know that Annie Green was born in Ontario Canada around the 1870's. Her mother Elizabeth Stalk Green died in 1878 in Ontario. Mother would like to return this wonderful picture to Aunt Annie's descendants but we are having a tough time locating them. Contact

Vincent Humphrey Photos

I have 2 photos of this man from WWII. He survived the Liscome Bay sinking in the South Pacific. They were in my late mother's collection of old photos. He may have been a friend of hers or of my dad from his navy days, both of whom were from NH. I also have a photo of an older woman-Mrs. Bessie Humphrey-possibly his mother. I really want to return these to the family. Contact

My grandmother lived in Racine, Wisconsin, and then moved to Barronette Wisconsin. Thank you so much.

Mertz (?) - Youngstown, Ohio Family Photo

I have in my possession an 8 x 10 photo of a family of five. It is in a studio folder. It appears to be grandparents, and a man with his two young daughters. The only identification of any kind is "Spratt Studio, Youngstown" ( I assume that is in Ohio.) My mother passed away in October 2000. I found this beautiful picture while going through her things. It was in a box of items that she had inherited from her second husband, Ernest Bickler. I am guessing that this picture may have belonged to his first wife, Bertha Mertz. This family was from Youngstown, Ohio. I would like to see this photo returned to its rightful family.

MITZEL / STABLEY Marriage Certificate / Photos - 1887 - PA

In a local shop here in York, PA are two items that it saddens me to see hanging there for sale. They are a marriage certificate complete with photos and then a large portrait of the couple from the marriage certificate only much older.
There were also 4 CDV photos of the man in a bin priced within my budget, so I bought those and donated two to the local historical society and I kept the other two which were duplicates of the first two.
The info on the marriage certificate is as follows:
Walter Mitzel of Felton Pa married in Loganville PA to Mary Ellen Stabley of Felton PA. Aug 25 1887. If a descendant of this couple is interested, I can direct them to the location of the marriage certificate and large portrait as long as they are still available in the shop. As for the two CDV photos of Walter, I have one set that I would be happy to pass on to a direct descendant who can show me proof of lineage, or I would scan & e-mail a digital copy to anyone interested.

Walton Family Papers and Photos - circa 1940's - Florida and Georgia

I purchased a photo album at an antique store in Columbus, GA, containing an original birth certificate from Orange Hospital in Orlando, FL, for Milton Knox WALTON on November 19, 1943, to Mr. and Mrs. Milton WALTON. There are report cards for Mr.WALTON from Muscogee County, GA, Rome, GA, and Macon, GA schools. A baptismal certificate for him from St. Luke Methodist Church in Columbus, GA, is contained in the album. Lots of photos. His mother's name was Jessie LEE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. LEE of Wedowee, AL, and his paternal grandmother was Mrs. Ethel WALTON of Lumpkin, GA. The owner of the antique shop stated that he thought he was related to a dentist in Columbus. Would like to reunite this valuable genealogical material with its owners.
