Hawley, Clerk In the name of God Amen, I John DOWNEY of the town of East Grove in the County of Lee and State of Illinois of the age of seventy-eight years and being of sound mind and memory do make public and declare this my last will and testament in the manner following that is to say: First, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary TODD, the sum of five dollars. Second, I give and devize to Mary Ann DUNN, my daughter, the sum of five dollars. Third, I give and devize to my daughter, Elizabeth COLEMAN, five dollars. Fourth, I give and devize to my daughter Hannah MACKIN the sum of five dollars. Fifth, I give and devize to my daughter Ellen WILLIAMS, the sum of five dollars. Sixth, I give and bequeath my daughter Margarette HOGAN the sum of five dollars. Seventh, I give and devize to my son James DOWNEY the sum of five dollars. Eighth, I give and devize to my son Dennis DOWNEY, the sum of five dollars. Ninth, I give and bequeath to my son Timothy DOWNEY, the sum of five dollars. Tenth, I give and devize to my son John DOWNEY all of my real estate, also all of my personal property that I own in the state of Illinois, except so much as I have hereby devized to the rest of my children. Also, that in case that my wife Johannah DOWNEY should outlive me, she is to have her support in every respect out of the said devize to John DOWNEY, Jr. during her natural life. Above legacies are to be paid by said John DOWNEY, Jr. within one year after my decease and further that said, John DOWNEY Jr. is to pay my son Dennis DOWNEY one hundred dollars each year during his natural life out of said John DOWNEY legacy. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of September, 1875. John Downey The above instrument consisting of one sheet, we at the date thereof, signed sealed publicized and declared by said John DOWNEY as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in in presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
